Mode, Test and Vehicle Panels

Below the Info Panel are the three panels used to select the test mode, the type of test to run and the vehicle type to be tested. The example below shows an air transmission timing test in certification mode on a trailer to be used for towing.

MODE

Select the type of test to be run

Certification Mode: Automatically verifies test results are within predefined limits as established by Federal regulations (Mini-Tractor only)
Diagnostic Mode: Provides a PASS or FAIL result indication. Diagnostic mode does not perform automatic checking of test results.

TEST

Select the type of test that will be run

Calibration: Verify ASRA III equipment is set properly
Air Transmission: Measure the application and release times of brakes
Air Balance: Measure pressure at the brakes in relation to each brake
Pressure Differential: Measures pressure at the control signal line at front & rear
Parking Brake: Pressure drop in parking brakes 3 minutes after actuation
Reservoir Recovery: Time it takes the Service Reservoir to recover to 100 PSI
Pressure Leak: Pressure at each sensor each minutes for 5 minutes

Vehicle

Select the type of vehicle(s) to be tested

Tractor
Trailer, towing
Trailer, non-towing
Converter dolly

Note the several combinations of MODE, TEST and Vehicle are not allowed. For example, Certification can only be used for certain tests on certain vehicles and Calibration is only allowed on the Mini-Tractor.
When a function is not allowed, the button is grayed out and cannot be selected.
